Default Gun Tests Magazine

Gun Test Magazine which is the Consumer Reports for guns just tested the Bodyguard 380. They declared the Bodyguard to be "The Cadillac of Pocket 380s", it is something we knew all along now that the bugs are worked out.

I subscribed to Gun Tests for about 4-5 years and let my subscription lapse in IIRC 2008. I was looking for information to help inform my purchasing. What I didn't realize for several years was that Gun Tests was merely entertainment (of sorts ) masquerading as information and analysis. I got tired of the numerous errors and vague testing criteria applied in an apparently arbitrary manner.

I have no knowledge of the Bodyguard 380.

Unless Gun Tests has dramatically improved their operation, I wouldn't attach any credence to anything in that magazine.

my experience, exactly. a 1911-shaped **** would beat almost any other pistol. they loved to use pretentious words. after finding several instances where they were completely inconsistent I realized that they had become far from objective.

I also agree with the comments regarding Gun Tests magazine and calling the S&W 380 a Cadillac tells me their knowledge base is still very limited.

Many companies do quite well copying Colts.

There is no such thing as a Cadillac of .380's. Maybe the Ford Fiesta of .380's or the Yugo of .380's, but no Caddy.

Lol, Not even the Chevy Cavalier?
My wife used to have a .380 Makarov, guess that would be the Lada of .380s.

I lost interest in them years ago. It always seemed every gun they tested was fantastic. I don't ever remember reading a bad review.

I sent for a free copy of of "Gun Tests" once. I decided it was overpriced.

I bought the bodyguard 380, it is great! Beats the kel tecs(32&380) and the Taurus 380 I have owned.
I like Gun Test magazine, they may miss one every now and then but at least you know their evaluation results are NOT based on how much money a manufacturer is spending on adds in their magazine.
If they like the bodyguard 380 thats fine with me. I also agree with them that the S&W M&P 9mm is pretty good. They named it their 2009Best in Class:Pistol.
