Default Mod 39-2 need help identifying something on side of pistol

Hello guys and gals,

I just joined tonight after months of reading and using this forum for reference and answers. Butnow I have one of my own.

I am considering buying a 39-2 with only seeing photos ( I know not great idea) One of the photos shows a weird swirl looking item above the trigger and attached to the slide lock. Anyone know what it is?Is it supposed to be there? I've never seen one on any other 39-2 or any pistol forthat matter.

Hope the picture attached.

Welcome to the forum.

That's a special effect in some photo management software that was used to obscure the serial number.
