10mm S&W pistol question
Hello All, Which is the rarest of the 10xx series pistols? Which is the most common? Which one do most people want? I am still searching for a 1076, but I am interested in what other folks are looking for. Is there a source for production number data? Thanks in advance for any help

I often wondered if this would have been probable...
10mm
10x0 = Scandium frame in any of these
xx0x = full length barrel TDA
xx1x = compact barrel TDA
xx2x = full length barrel Frame Decocker
xx3x = compact barrel Frame Decocker
xx4x = full length barrel DAO
xx5x = compact barrel DAO
xx6x = mid size barrel TDA
xx7x = mid size barrel Frame Decocker
xx8x = mid size barrel DAO
xx9x = Special Order
Thanks to BM1 my special order barrels are being made! LOL

Hey Dacoontz,
Are you going to get in on a 10XX conversion barrel ?
That's a 4516 in that old internet photo.
Look at the magazine, it does not have the protrusions (dimples) that the 10 m.m. mags have in them so they do not insert into .45 ACP caliber gun.
The spacing and round count of the witness holes is for a 7 round 4516/4536 Magazine.
Compare it to the 10 m.m. magazine.
On the other hand;
With my little project that's going on with the conversion barrels for the 10XX's, I'm just debating on whether to go with a 3.50" or 3.75".
It "IS" just the next logical step.
Stay tuned...............

Which 10xx?
Thanks for all your help Gentlemen! But, which are the most desirable of the 10 series semi autos? 1076? Does scarcity mean desirability? Are the shorter barreled pistols more desirable?I appreciate all input.

I guess that all depends on what you intend to do with it. The shorter barrelled guns would naturally be better to carry, even though they are all fairly large and substanial guns. From what I have heard the longer tubed guns are better for target shooting but I haven't acquired one yet to make that determination but it sounds logical. You really can't go wrong with any of them so I suppose when you find one for the right price then go for it no matter what it is. Good luck, there's a few 1076's on gunborker right now. They're all in the $600 to $800 range.
Bad man,
I did see your post and I am still in the contemplating stages. With all the various caliber options then I am not sure which one to go with. I will post there to get some input from you and others about what might be best.

Counting Down to Zero.
Just a little reminder, every day I get email requests and PM's.
The choices of these are getting to be limited.
Available remaining barrels;
In the 9 m.m. bore, (9x19, .356 TSW, .357 SIG, 9x23 Winchester and 9x25 Dillon)
There are;
4 - 4.25" barrels available and
1 - 5.00" barrels available. (LAST ONE)
Slightly more remaining in the .40 S&W/10 m.m. bore, because I figured for twice the quantity.
There are;
9 - 4.25" barrels available and
14 - 5.00" available.
I thought more people would be interested in the .40 S&W conversion than the 9's and the .357 SIG
I now know better for next time, although it will probably be a smaller run being the market will be saturated, maybe?

The only 10 I haven't owned has been the 1046 for obvious reasons. I have shot them all, owned them all, except for the 1046 and the one I have currently in my safe as the keeper is the 1066. I prefer the traditional slide mounted decocker/safety as opposed to the frame mounted decocker, which in my humble opinion, SIG being the one and only manufacturer that does it right. The S&W frame mounted decockers always felt flimsy when activated. The 1006 and 1026 seem to be a little big for my hand, even though they are based on the 4506 frame and I can handle and shoot the 4506 quite well. Hope this helps.
