S&W 1911PD Commander
Just bought one on gunbroker for $725. It's used but in excellent shape. Can't wait to get it. Anyone else have one? Do you like it? Do you use it as a CCW? Thanks, Dennis

I just bought a new SW1911PD #108283 and have ran 200 rounds of 230gr FMJ and 20 rounds of Winchester HP defensive ammo through it with no problems. It shoots great. I do not carry yet but have tried IWB and OWB holsters and it covers good. Here is a picture of mine.
I did get some Wilson Combat 8 round magazines (47D) and will use them instead of the ones that came with the gun.

I just picked up one with the 5" barrel. Haven't had it to the range yet. How does yours handle?

mes227: Hi! Mine handles great and shoots great. I polished the ramp and got some Wilson Combat 47D mags and it's a shooting machine. Dennis

We had a E-Series Commander Bob-tail for 2 days......1250.00 Almost had to fight off two customers....Seemed very nice. It felt great in the hand...Waiting to hear from new owner (a gun guy) how it shoots...I still question the durability of the Meltonian black finish....A Pro Series sure was subject to shelf wear especially on corners and top of Novak type sights.....This new one wasn't in shop long enough to tell much.....Not cheap but what is these days....S&W states that the E-Series is the results of new machining and research????? Made in USA ....Impressive looking. I understand hard to get...New gun phase or a really great find...Time will tell.....Wish we had a dozen !!!!

I have had one for several years and it serves as my main carry gun. I am totally satisfied with it.

Bought this one from a forum member here last year. It's my daily carry gun.

Have had mine for about a year and a half, excellent pistol for concealed carry and the finish on mine is starting to show it
The only failure I ever had was due to ammo; the round went *pop* instead of *BANG* and failed to fully cycle the slide.
