Since no aftermarket sights for the Bodyguard 380 have appeared, I decided I couldn't wait any longer to do something to improve the sights. Granted, they are better than my P3-AT, but for my 65 year-old eyes a black front sight that completely fills the rear notch is very sub-optimal. I found that the rear sight is made of very tough stainless, but with a carbide 1/8" mill I was able to widen it from the original ~0.125" to 0.148" wide, which allows the space on either side to be seen even when out of focus, as it is for me. A bluing pen wouldn't touch the stainless where it was machined, but fortunately I had some Insta-Blak 370 SS Gel, which worked to restore a black surface. Lastly, I applied the brightest red nail polish in my wife's arsenal to the front ramp sight, and now I have a sight I can actually use with good results.
Be advised the rear sight dovetail is super-tight, but fortunately the black oxide on the rear sight is very tough, and was not permanently damaged by the brass drift I had to use to remove it. Somebody speak up if there is a pusher that will work on the this gun!
