Default Education please. Model 659, adjustable sights?

I've been looking at a couple of 659's on the Internet. There seems to be two models, one with conventional rear sights and another with what look to be "ears" on the side. In other words the rear sight is protected.

The question that arises are which one had adjustable sights for windage and elevation?

Obviously one would have to be adjusted with a drift with no elevation change but I can't find a picture that shows if the protected sight has any adjustments.

I guess there are variations of that model so a quick education would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jerry

Thank you. Do they have separate model numbers or do you just depend on a picture. Thanks for the quick help.

Oh yes, thanks for the welcome!

They don't have different 'model numbers' but of you find them with the box, they did have different product codes.

Wink

Thank you for the info. So I'm guessing that for a $25 difference the adjustable sight model is more desirable. I intend it for informal plate and pin shoots, that sort of thing.

Any cons to this gun?

I do have a 52-1 and love it so I'm hoping this is close to the same quality.

They want to charge you $25.00 more for the one with adj sights?

For target shooting I would definitely choose the adjustable sights.

Con - it's heavy. But, it's a tank and you'll never wear it out.

I've got a 639, the single stack version of the 659. For pins and steel, they are great. The weight calms the recoil. Heavy loads don't bother these tanks but I did change the recoil spring for max pin loads. Sometimes a little deburring and polishing on the trigger parts is necessary to slick up the trigger. Highly recommended for your intended use.
