Mags for Model 59 Nickel
I have a Model 59 nickel that I just bought. It came with regular blue mags. Did S&W have nickel mags for this or use stainless mags?

Blued magazines were standard issue with nickled M39 and M59 pistols.
The 2nd and 3rd generation stainless magazines came later.

Mec-Gar makes 17 round nickel finish mags for the S&W 59 series. Regards 18DAI.

MidwayUSA has some 15 round S&W mags...they are out of stock at the moment, but expected to be in stock on 7/3.
Smith & Wesson Magazine S&W 59, 459, 659, 910, 915, 5903, 5904, 5906, 5923, 5924, 5926, 5943, 5944, 5946 9mm Luger 15-Round Stainless Steel - MidwayUSA
I just bought a model 59 myself...I tried a Mec-Gar mag while I was in the store, and it wouldn't lock into place, and the slide would not lock back with it. They had a Pro-Mag that fit and worked...it looked exactly the same as the Mec-Gar (and I tried two different Meg-Gar mags there.) I only bought one, since if I recall correctly, I've read some mixed reviews on the Pro-Mags (for other models; I don't know much about the model 59 yet.)

As was earlier posted, blued magazines were supplied by S&W with nickel 39s and 59s. Any nickel magazines you may find for either is aftermarket. I recommend use of the S&W magazines, as they usually are best in terms of reliability in those guns.

The link I posted from Midway appears to be a nickel, or stainless mag...and it says it is a S&W OEM part.
Would it work?
