There will be a single punch mark in the center of the inside of the beavertail (where the hammer rests when cocked).

Default Recall Marking

If the PPK or PPK/S has been back to S&W for the recall, there should be a letter from S&W confirming that the recall service was performed.

In addition, S&W marks the gun with a single punch mark located on the inside of the tang below and behind the hammer when the gun is cocked. You can't see the punch mark if the gun is cocked; it must be uncocked. It is on the top of the tang, and in the "well" of the tang that the hammer opens into when the gun is cocked.

Hope this helps.
