Decisions decisions..... Decision made. Now at home with me
Well it appears my Glock will have a new owner in about 12 hours. So now I have to decide 4006 or 4003. Assuming they still have the same deal going at the LGS that they did a couple months ago when I went and that WIShoot got there, I plan on getting one or the other. Leaning towards the 4003, but who knows.lol

If you are used to the glock's weight, go with the 4003. You can't lose with either, although get the correct holster for the 4006 and it won't seem as heavy on your hip.

Yeah I'll probably go 4003 but ya never know, I wish I the money to get both, because I know I will wish I got the other which ever one I pick.
I'll handle them both and I guess go with which ever speaks to me.

Although I could go with the 4006 since I do have the M&P in case I feel its too heavy. lol
I argue with myself

You can't go wrong with either. The 4006 is a tank that you'll never wear out but I think you'll appreciate the lighter weight of the 4003.

Carrying a 4043 right now, and I appreciate the lighter weight. No bad choice...

Sold my Glock today at 11 am and by 11:15 I was at the gunstore. Not that I was in a hurry to get a new one or anything.lol
I went with the 4003, the one I picked ( went through like 4 4006's and 3 or 4 4003's) looks like it was issued right before the dept went to Glocks or whatever they traded them in on. No real holster wear that I noticed. Pick it up after work Sunday thanks to our 48 hour waiting period. Even the grips were in good shape other than one scratch.
Sure is a significant weight difference between the 03 and 06.lol
Pics will come in a couple days

LoL , sorry. Didn't catch the error. Ok, a DA it is. Not DAO . The only difference that I see is the 4006 is all stainless and the 4003 is aluminum with a stainless slide making it a much lighter gun to carry at 29oz. Think I'll go with a 4003TSW .

The DAO models are the 4043 and the 4046. Also great guns. Congrats on your 4003, although you really couldn't go wrong either way.

I love S&W's entirely, however if one to choose between a glock and a 4006 I would have to go with a Glock 22.
I have over 118,400 rounds through my glock with only a couple of replacement parts not totaling over 20 bucks, 2 extractors and 1 trigger group for the ejector that chipped.
Now for revolvers and of course the model 41 there's nothing better under the sun in my opinion.

I've had glocks since 1995, and used them at the academy and as a reserve. I shoot them well, I'm just not in love with them, sure its a tool to use, but for a personal gun, I only want something that I am into, and as much as I tried I just couldn't.
I have a M&P which I like more and fills my polymer need. When I bought this Glock Feb of last year, it was between that and an M&P. I went with Glock then, and bought my M&P in October, and wish I would've just bought the M&P in the first place.
To me the 3rd gen smith is a classic, like a musclecar (which I also am into), and they just "speak to me".

Looks like CTD is still out of the used 4006 mags for $8, is there any other reputable place selling them cheap? I only need one or two more, the store I bought the gun from wanted $25 for additional used ones. Its coming with 2, but I'd like to have 3 or 4 total. At $25 for used I'd just spend a little bit more and get new.

"Like New" S&W 4006 mags are 9.99 at CDNN in the new catalog, Pg 75. Shipping was $9.99 last week and they tossed in a half dozen earplugs.

Picked it up at about 48hrs and 15min on the 48 hour waiting period.
It looks like it was barely shot at all. I don't think it actually got issued or if it did it was right before they sold them off.
I am VERY happy.
Here is a quick pic

Just fieldstripped it and looks great inside too. Also noticed the inside of the slide between the front sight and ejection port is laser marked " 4003/4006" Odd that nothing else is laser marked on the pistol.

Sent an email to S&W about a born on date on my 4003 and whether or not they still do the decock only conversion. Was made 2 days before my 22nd birthday back in 1993, and they still do the conversion $42 plus $14 shipping back to me. Not too bad.

Is 4006 pronounced "fourty - ought - six" ?
They are built like a tank!

Not sure I just say Forty Oh Six.
took teh 4003 out to the range, took a little getting used to after not shooting a TDA for a while, but I'm in love.
I come out and what do I see in the used gun case? A 3913 ladysmith for $4 more than I paid for my 4003. Good thing I didn't go to that store Friday or I really would had a tough decision. Although the fact we don't have CCW here yet probably would've swayed my to the 4003 anyway.

Ordered two from them Saturday, now the wait begins.
They had a 6.99 shipping deal for the weekend. So 2 mags with shipping, for about what I would have spent for 1 at the lgs for a used one.
