4006 magazine question...
My factory ones have a yellow follower, but I see some out there with blue followers. Any difference in quality or desirability???
Thanks,
Scott

The earlier followers were yellow, followed later by the blue ones. If you purchase a 4006 magazine new from Smith & Wesson today, it will have a blue follower.
I have and use magazines with both color followers and I've seen no difference in function between them. My 4006 is 100% reliable with either.

I also have both yellow and blue follower 4006 magazines. Both have work reliably for me.

I've never had an issue with the yellow or blue followers.
BUT
The one strange thing I've noticed is that if you decide to take apart your mags for a cleaning, you need to make sure the followers are replaced in the correct mag. For some strange reason, I've had feeding problems like crazy if I put the yellow follower in a mag that originally had a blue one. It's also next to impossible to fully load the mag if the wrong follower was used.

I've done the opposite, put a blue follower in a mag with the yellow follower needing replacement and had no problems going in that direction.

Ditto. I did the same with no issues.

A S&W follower color change was usually done when they changed something around the feed lip area of the mag. This is the reason why some followers will not work.

I just got 5 LE 4006 trade-in mags from a Forum member here. They all are 11 round capacity mags with blue followers and are marked as LE. You might check with SHARF and see if he has any more.

I got five from him about a week ago, but he has since sold the last of them.

Thanks for the heads-up, OK Hog Shooter. Alas, I noticed it too late.
Definitely thinking about more magazines since I want to buy one of those Kel-Tec .40 S&W carbines that will take these mags.

I have blue and yellow, my blue hold 10 rounds. Other than that there is no difference between them.

Let us know what kind of shape they're in when you get them. Thanks!

Will do. Hopefully they'll get here soon. Still not showing they've shipped according to the order status link they gave me.

I was going to mention CDNN also. No used trade in 9mm mags anymore, but lots of 4006 available still.

Took them apart and the dirtier one you could tell had never been apart or it had been a looong time. It had a lot of powder residue, but cleaned up good. The other was cleaner but had a few surface rust spots on the spring.
Although they both had yellow followers they were different. one had a solid front and the other had a notch in the front you can see the top coil of the spring through.
