6906
My DIL is looking for a 9mm......my son has a Glock 19 and it is a bit too wide in the grip area. How does the 6906 compare ? Is there a better choice ? Thank you....

She may like the feel of the 3913/14 or 3953/54, they're single stack.

Go with the plain 3913 or the LadySmith version.

Agreed, the 6906 grip with the stock grips may be less rounds for roughly the same size overall. A single stack might be the ticket for her!

As much as I love my 6906, it is definitely a chunk to hang on to.

As much as I like my 6904/6906s suggest she look at the 39xx series.

If you could find both at a local gun shop for her to wrap her hand around it would probably be helpful. Owning both the 6906 and a Glock 19 there is a big difference in the grip and trigger reach between the two and is larger than appears.
Back in 1993/4 I was training two ladies, one in her 40s (5' 7"/125) and the other in her 50s (5' 4"/110) to shoot...both were very athletic. They were both trained on a 6906 and when it came time to buy their own guns I suggested they look at 3913s also...both came in with 6900s...one a 6904 blue and the other a 6906.... Both said the roundness of the grip filled their hand better than the narrow grip of the 3900 guns.
Since they shortly thereafter were invited to qualify with a small local police department and shot 94 and 96% when 4/5 of the officers shot in the 80s I guess they made the correct choice...
And I know this is the S&W Forum but you may also want to consider the Kahr series of 9mms and the SIG 239. I have lots of female students who have chosen those...
