Default New 4006tsw

Thought I'd better post up some pics of my new 4006tsw. I've had it a few weeks now, took it to the range one time but need to go again. Also need to get some different social ammo for it and a good holster so it can take its rightful place in my stable of carry guns.

I got this gun from Summit Gun Broker. As you can see in the pictures it has seen some use, but nothing that matters in terms of shootability. I told them to back up the truck on magazines too. At $10 each I figured an even dozen would be a good start. I am liking this gun a lot so far.

If you find you're still short on mags , you might want to search "4006 magazine" at Cheaper Than Dirt, some time back they had them for $7.97 a piece.

Also, if you're also looking for an easy makeover, Brownell's has factory straight back grips for around $19 plus shipping or $15ish plus shipping if you get any of the discounts.

Nice pistol BTW.

Nice find! Enjoy!

Just out of curiosity...why exactly would you need 12 mags?

Very nice! Best of luck with it!

BTW, a new grip on one of these 3rd Gen pistols can greatly improve its overall appearance.

You need that many mags so that you don't have to waste precious range time thumbing damned rounds into them. I load 15 or so in front of the TV, and shoot them at the range. When they are empty, I go home.
Nice gun and great price. I love that shop. I got a Rem 870 Police Magnum with walnut furniture and gloss blue/rifle sights for $225. Looked like a 500 dollar gun when I got it.

Actually, I never thought about doing that. Good idea.

Admittedly I've always carried my 3 mags for duty carry and that's been about it to be honest with you. I've always watched/inspected them to make sure they are in serviceable condition and if not, then I would definitely replace them as needed. So, I never thought about collecting more than that. But putting it the way you did above so you don't have to keep reloading at the range but just having to slap in a new mag for your entire range trip sounds like a pretty good idea.

Congrats on the 4006TSW. I picked one up recently myself and have been very happy with it, though I think it is on the heavy side for a regular carry pistol.

Heck, I've got 5 for a 4006 and I don't even own one yet!

OP, nice buy and it's good to hear the word about Summit: he's got some great deals!

Thanks! Of course I went to look on brownells.com and they are sold out at the moment, but I will keep checking, as the grips on mine are pretty scratched up.

If I get in an extended gun battle I feel it is likely that I will burn through all 12 magazines fairly quickly. I actually need more. The plan is that I will be shooting pistols while the wife reloads my shotgun every time I run it dry. Just kidding. As others mentioned, having lots of magazines is nice for classes and range sessions, and I am also the type of person who likes to take advantage of good deals by stocking up.

Thanks! I will add a new grip as soon as I find them in stock. It's definitely a priority.

My first carry piece was a 4" S&W 686. Actually slightly heavier than this gun. Personally I like a solid feeling handgun. It gives me warm fuzzies.

So far so good! Agreed that Mark is a good guy with good prices. Glad to hear you're enjoying yours.

To everyone I did not directly reply to: thanks for all your comments!
