Default Does a S&W Recall Cost Me Shipping?

In another posting on this forum, I found out that my S&W 5926 is subject to a recall. (My gun does not have the 2 dots under the decocker, which indicates the factory mod has not been done.) My question is: Do I have to pay any shipping or other charges to send this back to S&W & have it returned to me? Thanks.

It should NOT!
Once you contact S&W they'll send you return info. that must be used thru their designated carrier[my guess - Fedex]. Once you have it packaged you'll need to go to the carrier and ship it - cost is on S&W.

505Gibbs is correct, you will not have to pay a dime. Contact Smith customer service, based on your serial number, they will tell you if the gun has been, or needs to be returned to them under the recall. If it needs to be sent in, the will email or fax you a Fedex ticket, you just box it up and send it in. Keep in mind, the address you give them is the address they will ship to, and there must be an adult available to sign for the return shipment. When I sent my 5926 in, it was back at my door 10 days from the day I shipped it.
