price check 5906
Hi guys, I am thinning down and was thinking of finding a new home for a super nice safe queen 5906. Any idea what a fair value would be for both parties ? Thanks for you input.

Well I live in Toledo Ohio and when you see a 5906 offered which is not a lot, in average condition with 2 magazines expect to pay 450 and up , no box or papers, I have never seen one in my area offered with a box or doc. most are police trade ins. hope this helps

Does it have the box or any extra clips?

Yes, I have the original box and it comes with three mags. I do not think it is a police trade in. It is a safe queen, very little wear. The pistol is super tight and you can still see the milling marks on the frame and slide. Looks like it has only had a couple of clips thru it at most. Not NIB but real close. I am not in a hurry to sell, just curious as to its value if I decide to let it go. I picked up its cousin, a 6906 and it has not ventured out of the safe in a long time. Thanks for all of your input!

I bought my extremely clean 5906 from an LGS in 2014 for $475.00 with (2) magazines, if that helps. I think he originally wanted $500 or a touch over.

I got the same deal in 2014 for the same price. There are so many police trade-ins out there for $300-$350 that drive the price down on this model. Some of these are quite clean and some are rough. None of these had the original box.

I'm pretty sure my 6926 (same LGS) was a former FBI or Detective gun. The 5906 though...no idea. There's a complete lack of holster (or any other) wear on it--even the grips are pristine. Looks more like someone's night stand gun that rarely got shot.

I picked up my 5906 with 2 mags, and a leather holster, original box and papers, for $250. Just before Christmas. Guess he needed the toy money. My gain! Not a thing wrong with it. Looks about 90+%. Its now my carry weapon. Big grin!

If it's as nice as you describe it, with original box and three standard capacity magazines, I say $450-$475 minimum and probably more like $500 to $550 (or even higher if really pristine flawless). Mine came in its original box but with only two magazines and in something slightly less than flawless condition. I paid $425 out the door after some hard bargaining.

I bought two NIB 5906s from an out of the way in home LGS at 595 each. They have two magazines and all the papers. I was looking for a nice used one and when I found these, I thought better to pay extra for a new one than one I knew nothing about. I went to pick one up and thought I like them, when will I find another nice one like this so got both. 595, yes too high but I have two NIB guns that I like.

As I've mentioned before, I have seen true "new-unfired-in-box" 3rd Gens go for very high premiums over average used condition (and do so rather quickly!). I don't think $595 is out of line at all for what you got.

If I found one in excellent condition, in my area of Florida, I would expect to pay $500.00. Have been watching for a 5906 in excellent condition, with a round trigger guard, for a while now.
