Default BG 380 take down lever

I purchased a BG 380 about a month ago. I have put 500 rounds downrange with it without a problem. Laser works great as well, with easy activation with both buttons. My question though is in regard to the take down lever. I cannot take the gun down without using a nail set, punch or the like to rotate the lever. I have taken it down 4 times and was hoping that it would loosen up but it has not. Now I am not going to send it back to S&W since it shoots great with no malfunctions. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if there is some kind of fix for it? Thanks.

My wife just got one and it has the same problem. We haven't taken it to the range yet because I have one coming in for me too. We want to shoot them in together. It was a bugger to get it rotated all the way when I took hers down for cleaning. Is it a bug or a feature?

The fix is to remove the lever a number of times. Mine, too, was difficult at first, but is much easier now. It improved after probably 5-10 take downs. It's quite esay now with 15 or so take downs. Put a little oil on the pin and wipe off the excess each time.

S&W is making them hard to remove on purpose. The first Bodyguards, those with EAA serial number prefixes, were highly prone to having the takedown lever come out on it's own during firing. In a few cases it dropped out completely and allowed the entire barrel assembly and slide to fly down range. There was never a recall but S&W started quickly replacing the EAA frames with the improved EAB frames pretty quick when the EAAs started coming in for warranty work. So... it's not a bug, it's an intentional design feature.
