Newbie here, I have been looking for a M&P 9mm Pro series with the 5' barrel for a few months now, does anybody know why they are so scarce? The ones that I did find are through the roof on price. I see that they are very popular for competition use.
One of my co-workers picked up an M&P Pro when it first came out. It is a very nice pistol and the trigger is WAY better than my issued M&P40C. And when they say the proof is in the pudding... The first two rounds I fired with the M&P Pro went into the SAME HOLE at around 15'. I promptly put the pistol down and said there was no way beat that and I quit while I was ahead.
If you ever find one for sale I am sure that you will be happy with it. And now my buddy wants the .40 cal version of the same pistol so he can have a matched pair. He carries the full size M&P40 and would undoubtedly prefer the 40 Pro if it was authorized and had night sights over the fiber optic tube in the front!
I asked at a local shop the other day and they said they could get me one...in March, 2012...might look around a little more, but might just go for it...
