What/how did you clean it, because it looks great. Did you do anything to the finish?

The frame has the original finish. The slide has a brushed satin finish. The previous owner, polished the slide. It was done by hand and looked cheesy. Which was good for me. That did not take out any of the original rolls or lettering etc. I imagine that was done to clean the slide up. I ran a satin finishing wheel over the slide. I will eventually bead blast the slide. For now I can live with the brushed finish on the slide. When I get around to refinishing the pistol, I'll also do the frame.
This was the condition as purchased. With the hand polished slide.

Keep your eyes open. They turn up when you least expect them.

Did some of those show up as surplus somewhwere, or did you work a good deal on one? And is that single- or double-stack?
In any case, it looks great to me, nice job!
It'll probably look better than new when you're satisfied with the looks. TACC1

Aint that the truth usually. Mine luckily popped up when I was actually looking for a 3rd Gen. And they are single stack, 7rd mags.

I think it was a good deal. Not a surplus pistol. From original the owner. The 4516-2 is a single stack .45acp. She cleaned up okay for now. The pistol has a low round count. The previous owner mentioned 800 rounds. Mechanically the pistol is in fine shape. So far so good all she needed is a little tlc. I'll replace the recoil & mag springs & the 4516-2 will be good to go. They look & function fine but do to age I will replace them. I like to replace those items on new to me (used) pistol. When I have some spare time. I will bead blast the frame and slide and put her back into the original type finish.
