I have finally committed and joined the 1911 club. Every time I picked one up, I marvel at the beauty and craftsmanship. I have also noticed that they shoot very well, too.

Lucky to have bought the last PC 45ACP gun from the dealer. Went to the range twice so far. The feeling I got before I shot is that the gun is tight and very well buttoned down. Shooting it at close range, there was less of a discrepancy between my M&P9 and this gun, even though the latter has an edge because of the lighter and crisper trigger.

At longer distances (50') aiming at 8" targets, the sw1911pc clearly has an advantage over the M&P9. Even though the muzzle flip has a larger arc, the predictability of the 1911 shots were much higher and I can call the shots 80-90% of the time, considering I am not a guru with pistols.

Arthury. I have the same gun and love mine too - use it for bullseye matches. It really likes Lasercast 185 grain LSWCs.

I did add a few things to it to make it fit my hand better. An arched S&A mainspring housing with a mag well and Wilson extended magazine and slide releases. I also replaced the sloppy fit factory trigger with a Wilson ultralight match unit. Now its the perfect 45 for me.

How was the fit of the trigger in yours? Any slop up and down or side to side?

Did yours come with the RoCo grip which is different from the picture in the S&W website. The one they showed has a checkered wooden grip.

Also the mags that came with mine seemed to be made by ACT Mag and has the word Italy on them.

Yes is came with RoCo grips and very nicely finished blued Italian magazines. Photo of the gun:

Currently I believe that the best values in 1911's are either the S&W PC version or the Dan Wesson's.

Yes, there's some free-play side-ways on the trigger when it is not depressed.

I might also consider the extended mag release because in my normal firing grip, I cannot reach the mag release.
Now, with the extended mag release, are the chances of accidental mag release higher?

Since you are using it for bulls-eye matches, I am assuming you have a scope on it or are you using the iron sights? I am not quite happy with the iron sights because it took a while for my eyes to find them when the gun is initially pointing at the target. May be I need to re-adjust my pointing positing when I draw.

I just use the iron sights - with reading glasses so I can see the sights and a slightly fuzzy bullseye. I normally use a red dot on bullseye guns but it would be a sin to put one on this gun.

No issue with the extended mag release. I have been using them in competition for 25 years now and never, ever had an accidental mag drop. Even if you were using the gun for CC I doubt you would ever have an issue - the mag release spring in 1911s is pretty stout. BTW my PC1911 will never be used for CCW because the trigger is way too light for that.
