Default model 52(NOW WITH PICS)

Found a model 52 in the box with 2 mags and all the tools and
paper work, serial number 51000 range condition is between
90 and 95%. I don't know anything about these semi auto's, any
info would be great. Is there anything I should look for?

Thanks

Would be first version that can be converted to double action (BUT not smart if the trigger is good as getting it back can be hard to do). About 3500 mfg per S&W Cat. Later 52-1 with single action only and 52-2 with improved extrator.
Value in the $700 - $850 range at 90-95%. Could hit $900- 1000 range if someone missing for collection.

My 52-1 is among my favorite pistols to shoot. It is very accurate and the trigger is superb. If you have never fired one, do yourself a favor and find one to try.

I own 50156 NIB that shipped 4/1962. I paid $875 in 2000 FWIW.

Since you said you know nothing about them I want you to know that they only shoot .38 special wadcutters.

Not semi wadcutters, round nose or anything else.

People have shot other rounds in them and have ruined there guns.

They are target guns for a .38 wadcutter target load.

Good luck, great firearm.
