Default "Mottled" Safety Lever?

I looked at an early 3913 today. It seemed in very good condition except for one thing- one of the safety levers had what looked like a mottled appearance instead of the noticeably smoother and more even matte grey finish on the other lever. Is that kind of variation normal, or anything more than cosmetic?

Simply cosmetic, IMO. One of my 4513's and one of my 4506-1's is the same as you describe.

On mine it is only noticeable in certain light. Regards 18DAI.
