It's a 52-1 ser 596XX.

For those who've owned both, which do you prefer, the -1 or -2?

Should be mid 1960's. Most prefer the 52-2 because it has the better extractor.

63 - 64 but Jinks (S&W historian) can confirm Ship Date
Pref for shooters - 52-2 as per CIVIL1977
