Default new to me 5946

I picked up a nice 5946 today. I really like this gun. I have always like the 3rd gen autos. My question is where do i get extra mags and a good holster for it? i ran 50 rounds through it earlier and it performed flawless. Now i just need a 4566 and a 4043 and ill be happy. I have been bit by the 3rd gen bug and i like it.

After getting home and cleaning the gun i noticed my rear sight was loose. I tried to tighten it up but the screw freespun. Is this something i can fix myselrf or do i need a smith to take a look at it.

I can't help with the sight, but I would recommend Mec-Gar mags at mecgar.com. They sell high quality mags with a redesigned follower that allows 17 rounds instead of 15.

The MecGar mags are reported to be as good as the OEM mags. MecGar makes magazines for some gun manufactures.

Alessi holster for a S&W #5946. Very comfortable, secure, and hugs the body. The #5946 carries well in this rig. Google Lou Alessi holsters. Many of the custom holster makers on this forum offer similar designs at competitive prices.
