Default 3913 Lady Smith?

Just picked up a new used 3rd generation 3913. Maybe you guys on the forum can help me out. Is this the Lady Smith that isn't marked or just the regular 3913.

It's a "NL" or unmarked Ladysmith, not a regular 3913. Tapered frame is the big difference. I carry mine a lot...you'll LOVE it.

Default 3913 NL

Thanks ShoeShooter, I thought maybe it was the 3913 NL but it did not come with the box so I wasn't sure. I like it alot already but have not made it to the range yet.I can't wait.

Great gun, nice going. I have one I carry every day. The former owner steel wooled off the Lady Smith on the slide, so I got a really good deal on it. I did replace the grips with Hogue grips, a little fatter for my big hands and more grippy. You will love your new 3913, they are an honest gun, very accurate and will eat anything you run through it. I fell in love with mine too. Congrats on the new piece.

I hav two LSs, one blued and the other steel. I used to carry them both quite a bit. Then I picked up a CS45 with Big Dog grips.

The LS is a great carry gun and, as mentioned, both of mine are very accurate. I've never had that first burp, as well. Total confidence in what you carry is a great feeling, too. I think it is a great choice; you'll see.

Default Got the original box today.

Hold everything. The Gun Shop calls today, they found the box. Has all the papers and the other magazine. The box has model 3913 LS on it, product code 108290 and the correct serial number as to the gun. It's NOT marked 3913NL. Serial number says Jan. 1994 (VJH77XX) This does not add up. It's still nice though.

It looks like a Lady Smith (with the light colored grips). Perhaps the previous owner was able to buff out the etched Lady Smith script on the slide. You've got yourself a good looking gun! (I happen to have a LS too)

I may be wrong, but the Lady Smith does not have the ambidextrous safety/de-cocker. What you have I believe is the 3913 NL (new look), which is essentially the same as the LS. You're gonna look good shooting it, my friend.

Default ambidextrous safety/de-cocker on 3913LS?

I thought it was strange that it had the ambidextrous safety/de-cocker also. I may have to spend the 50 or so dollars to get the letter. Then I would have the true answer as to what this is, a 3913LS or 3913NL. If anyone on the forum has the box to their 3913NL, is it marked 3913NL?

My 3913NL looks like yours with the exception of mine has a left side safety/decock only. My box does say NL on the label.
It could be a later model NL where S&W put the ambi safety/decock on the NL just like they did on the later model CS9, which was left side only originally.

I checked the box and mine is marked NL. My 3913 does not have the ambi safety and the trade mark is on the right side of the frame. Bought it new in about 1987 still have it and it will go to my son if I can't wear it out before I'm gone. Oh, the product code is 103913

Default 3913

I picked up a 3913 about 6 months ago from someone on this forum. After one trip to the range it has become My #1 carry piece. Goes with Me every day, its accurate, reliable, and ultralight weight. Best used gun I ever bought. kingcobra07

Default 3913 Ladysmith

The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson lists your guns product code as a "Ladysmith" and being marked as such. Also it should only have a right handed safety lever and should have been shipped in a softsided case.

Since your box serial number matches the pistol serial number, along with no "Ladysmith" on the slide and ambi lever, it could have been a transition gun.

There is also the possibility that someone replaced the entire slide with a standard 3913 slide to acquire the ambi safety lever and eliminate the "Ladysmith" slide marking.

Serial number shows it was most probably made in late 1994.

3913, very underrated gun. Easy to carry and very accurate. Have one stashed, with a few other 3rd gen S&W autos. Always liked to keep the same action on all my carry guns. Have switched to M&Ps now.

Didn't the Lady Smith's all come with decocker on left side only?
3913 has them on both sides.

Would someone please describe to me what "NL" means. "NL" = new look? Could someone please give a small lesson on the differences? Thanks

Default cool

I didn't know there were blue (black) 3914 Ladysmiths.

I'd have no problem at all rockin' a Ladysmith by the way. But I do prefer the dark 3914's to the 3913's although they're harder to find it seems.

I'm an old geezer and technology seems to escape me, so I do not know how to post pictures.

I was not aware they made a blued LS (black actually) until I was talking to a S&W fan at the club. They are marked 3914 just above the SN, and have Lady Smith on the right side of the slide. It was not easy to find one; took me over two years.

Appaling to hear that someone tried to buff out the Lady Smith on a pistol. Fortunately, most of us are secure enough in our tighty whities that is not an issue. Sure glad they didn't make one in pink, though.

Actually that two years I spent looking for one on line only uncovered one. However, it was too beat up. I found mine thru INGO (Indiana Gun Owners) and did a trade. Just about lost my cool when I saw it; almost perfect condition. Had a huge grin on my face for quite a while.

It looks to me that it has a regular 3913 slide on it. It is not slanted in the front but has the cuts of the regular slide in the front.

I have to agree with Ken4, it looks like a standard 3913 slide on a Lady Smith frame. Either way its still one of the best S&W semi autos ever made.

Could this be a 6906 slide ? I have one and the photos appear the same.

I thought the slides were the same width, and only the frames were narrower.

You have a standard 3913 slide on a 3913LS frame.

And the NL stood for "New Look" according to S&W when I boutght mine back in the mid 90's. The only difference btw the LS and NL was the :Ladysmith" engraving and the LS came with a soft side zip up case.
other then that, the grips were both grey and all parts are inter-changeable. My NL came with a single sided safety and the box is marked NL
