Desrat -- The model 3914 is an excellent pistol. Fine self-defense deep carry. Keep your little finger out from the front strap when rapidly seating magazine or you'll pinch the **** out of it. I know! OUCH!!!

Try an Alessi Talon for IWB carry or a High Noon Mr. Softy for AIWB carry. Nice gun and very good deal!

Alessi makes great holsters; you can't go wrong with one of them.

Range report
Well, made it out and ran 200 rounds with no problems.
Fed PD 124gr, Rem cheapo 115 jhp, and my reloads.
Overall, I am impressed. I need more trigger time to get used to it. Been use to 1911's, Glocks, and trusty Mdl 19.
One thing I will say, it is a bitch to get slide back on. I am not talking about the sear release, firing pin safety and ejector. It locks up just past that. I tried pressing the barrel to unlock etc, but no go. I have to rattle the slide to get it to go. I bought this used, but I see very little evidence of use. So, maybe it needs to get broken-in. There weren't even any marks on hte barrel hood.
Thanks everyone for the compliments!

I have the stainless 3913 version and it one of my favorite pistols. The 3913, along with a CZ75B, fit my hand better than other pistols.

Desrat, you got a great gun at a great price! I have both the 3913 and 3914. Mine sometimes sticks a little too when reassembling. Would suggest a little patience. I usually get it by the second attempt.
Enjoy your new gun!

Congrats on your 3914! One of the finest pistols to come out of S&W.
Try depressing the three levers with an ice cream stick when putting the slide back on the frame. It should eliminate the slide "sticking". Regards 18DAI

Congrats, great gun and great find! And congrats for having a pair and telling your wife it was a must buy item.
I have it's cousin, a 4014. (.40 S&W version) and it has become my favorite 3rd gen pistol and my every day carry.
Tim Thurner of TT Gunleather made me an awesome reinforced mouth IWB holster. I had a Galco that I also liked, but the the TT holster is the best ever.

That's what I thought, too. But the gear it's laying on looks purple, too. Lighting?
Personally, I would like a purple frame gun. OD, camo & desert tan have been so overdone.
