Default I picked up a "brick" today

I have been a bit compulsive lately and here is part of it. I started becoming aware of the 3rd gen autos on July 5th.
Today I picked up a 4566 and man its heavy. But I shot it within an hour of picking it up, it shoots nice.

In the pick first 6906 than 5903 than 4566
Thanks for all the info that I have picked up from the site

Oh yeah a 3913 is my next purchase

Wow! You've certainly gotten the bug, I wish I had that much disposable cash. Nice collection!

Cool

I like that calling the 4566 a brick. I lugged a 4506-1 on duty for over 5yrs. My 4566 now feels like a feather weight!!

I have both a 4566 and 6906 from CDNN. Both are in great condition. The 4566 has the bobbed hammer and decocker only, which I really like. Both function flawlessly with factory ammo and my reloads.

Default 3rd Generation Compulsion

There's something about them..........traded a MP40 for a LNIB 6906 last summer. Traded a 442 for yet another LNIB 6904 shortly thereafter. Bought a 4013TSW last year. Got a good deal on a CS9 early this year. Picked up a LNIB 3913TSW w rail early this summer. Traded a Glock 27 for a LNIB CS40 a month ago and Friday I will make what I vow to be my last 3rd gen purchases when I pick up an unfired in box CS45D.

No others I want or need, but then again what's need got to do with it?

It must be something in the water...in the last month, I've bought a 3953, a 4516-1, and a 945PC, and am looking for a 4556...all before I found this site, so I can't even blame it on you guys! I'm out of money now, so I guess it'll be in remission for a while. But then I guess I could trade some other stuff I've lost interest in for more of 'em; what should I be looking for?

Congrats on your 4566. Probably one of the most overlooked and underated 45's out there.

Yea, it's a little heavy. Actually the same weight, or a couple of ounces lighter, than the vaunted 1911. With a good belt and holster the extra weight is negligible, IMO.

Enjoy your 4566! It is a "brick" that kills bugs dead. Regards 18DAI.

Travis, i know what you mean. Since the 1st of August I have bought a Model 17 and a Model 586 and my dealer called me today letting me know he had gotten a Model 4506 fixed that I was looking at last week. Got to go deal Monday. Meantime I am looking for a Model 29, blued with a 5" full lug barrel. So many guns, so little money. And it is so hot down in South Georgia with the gnats and flies that our open air range stays deserted. First thing that goes in my shooting bag is a bottle of Bull Frog.

I just bought a 6906 today at the Dallas gun show. I looked at them last week at the Mesquite show, and regretted not buying one then. The dealer Bachman's, had six, all police trade-ins.

Bought a 4586 back in March in a FTF sale locally, but really wanted the 9mm for carry. Hopefully, I'll get to the range later this week. The 3rd Gen are addictive.

I joined the forum in October of last year looking for a 4013TSW to compliment my 4006 that I've had for almost 10 years. That was followed by a 4506, 4566 and then a 4506-1... and I want more... more... more... is there a S&W 3rd generation support group? epj is welcome to join me!

Default Iv got the bug to.

I have been looking at S&W 3rd gens for over a year, but until 9 months ago i did not have a one. Now iv had four and still counting, hard on the check book but i do love them so. Nice; 6906, 5903, and 4566, i love my 6906, and 5903 got mine at a good price by buying them as a package deal. Got a 4006TSW to realy nice looking pistol, its my go to pistol right now, and it is a brick to. Have thought about a 4566 to lookin at yours makes me think alittle harder.
