Default 1076 holster: High Noon slide guard or Milt Sparks 55BN

can't decide....

have had great luck with the High Noon slide guard, though it took forever to break in.

Heard Milt Sparks are top notch plus I could get a straight up-down draw, which show my duty holster is. Plus there are more cosmetic options like basketweave.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks

No experience with either holster mentioned and while the high noon is prolly an excellent holster, I've been looking at the 55BN so I'd lean toward it.

Malpaso:

usually I don't like to answer a "which one to pick, A or B" question with an answer of "C", but I recently looked at the Spakes holsters, which are very nice, and instead chose a TT Gunleather holster from Tim Thurner.

A friend who owns Sparks and Rosen holsters bought a TT for his new Ed Brown, and was raving about it. I ordered one for my 4014 and couldn't be happier. I got a reinforced mouth IWB model.

From day one the gun holstered easily and retains the gun perfectly. It drew out pretty well the first few days. After about 4 days the draw was perfect.

Sparks and TT make much better leather than High Noon. Tim at TT is a pleasure to deal with. I find Sparks cold and impersonal with no flexibility in making even a little change.

Sparks over High Noon any day of the week. There is the issue of long wait times (5-6 months) with Sparks. The 55BN is an awesome holster. It does not conceal as well as others but since you are LEO, it shouldn't matter.

Default TT Gunleather holster

Agreed.

Tim Thurner was one of the best craftsmen I've dealt with and the quality of the TT Gunleather holster is outstanding. I've been a real advocate for him on these boards (and for the record, I don't get any referral fees or anything from Tim!)

He also has two lines of holsters. Occidental Leather is one line, and have a lot of stock ready to ship based on his designs and oversight. Then Tim makes his custom line (TT Gunleather).

Tim had never made a holster for the 4014/4013 single stack but had acquired a blank and really wanted to start making more 3rd gen pistol holsters. He rushed mine- starting it the same week I finalized the order. I think I received it about 10 days later. I can't promise that same rush service for your 1076, but in general he seems to have a lot less wait time for a quality custom holster than anyone else.

My son, and others that have seen my new TT Gunleather holster are all amazed at the quality. It also rides very nicely and conceals very well.

The other thing that was great about dealing with Tim was his communication both by email, with photos, etc., and by calling. He took the time to ask a lot of questions about how and when I carried, types of belts used, etc., and also on a personal basis seems like a very friendly and professional individual.

I have a M Sparks 55BN for my P220 (my 1076 fits it very well) it is a superb holster.

Their reputation for top notch quality is well earned.
