Does/did Smith make straight backstrap wraparound delrin grips for the 6906 like I see on the 3913 and 908 or did they only produce the arched version?

TGardner, I've ordered grips directly from Smith & Wesson before and they normally run about $20. You should be able to order them by calling their parts department at 1-800-331-0852. They are open 8-5 M-F EST.
The part number for the 6906 grips should be 203550000. I hope this helps.

Thanks FORSMITHERS. For those interested, the phone number and part number are correct. I just got a 6906 with Finger-grooved Hogues. Feels a little fat with them, in my opinion. I kind of like the originals on my 3913 so wanted similar for the 6906. Ordered them using the info above. $23 bucks and change including shipping. Head's up, I was told by the operator that shipping will be slightly delayed due to inventory going on right now.

You might be able to get a free set of replacement grips from S&W for the 6906. They had a recall, and were replacing them on request. I have forgotten the particulars, but it seems that the plastic in a run of them was too brittle and would crack.

According to firearmsid com, the grip, if dropped right, cracks and as a result there could be a failure to fire by releasing the mainspring tension.
S&W supposedly will replace the grips free for 6906's made before the recall.
You can either call them ( good luck with that ), or email them with your serial number and they will tell you if your weapon was on the recall list.
I found that site accidentally and noticed my 6906 was on a long list of other weapons made prior to 1990 that had been recalled for one reason or another.
