Since I can't seem to find a nice 4553 or a shorty 45 I have my eye on a new old stock 457 with matching numbers box. I know the 457 where the value line guns. What do you guys think this gun is worth? Thanks in advance
I bought mine in like-new condition from a pawnshop a couple of years ago and have been extremely happy with it. The 457 just also happens to be the dual-tone model that was made for a certain distributor that also seems to be limited production. I think I paid around $400.00 for it but I cannot get to my receipt right now. Great pistols!
Great gun, think I paid $400 for mine NIB about 2 yrs ago. They seem to be somewhat under-appreciated as a reliable small frame, relatively lightweight 45 which I think tends to keep the price down on them. Would gladly spend $400 again if I was looking for one. Good luck.
I have a 457 two tone like the first one .I paid $400 for mine also nib.The Durham,NC pd issued 457 to their detectives several years ago.New they were very accurate pistols but after about 700 to 1000 rounds groups started opening up quite a bit.The slide to frame fit started wearing significately. If you are planning to shoot it a lot try to find a 4516.Same size but stainless ,weight is a little more ,but a great carry gun.Just my two cents !
I have a 457S that I bought about 1 1/2 years ago. I carry it on most days. I don't know how many rounds have been through it but I do know that it is accurate enough. At self defense distances there doesn't seem to be much difference between the 457 and my 4506. I paid $400 with two mags. I would buy another one. They are good guns.
