Default Help With 45** Magazine Followers

I recently purchased a very nice 4586. I've put night sights on it, replaced the recoil spring with a Wolff factory weight spring, and replaced the magazine springs on the two magazines that came with it. I noticed that both of the older magazines have orange colored followers, and when I recently bought a new magazine it came with a black follower.

Can anyone help me out on the various follower colors, and what they mean....if they mean anything at all.

I believe the Black is the newer of the 45cal followers...Orange were original. The change was supposed to be improvement for more reliable feeding.

I don't know if the orange (45) have the sloped tip like the original (10mm) yellow followers which had a 45 degeree slope instead of the straight tip of the newer white ones. You could compare the tips of the Black ones to see.

I had no issues with either the older or newer 10mm followers feeding 10mm/40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon from either type.

I swapped all my earlier followers for the black ones along with New Wolff springs when I services all my mags. All function perfectly in both my 745 and 4566.
