Smith and Wesson 9MM Model 459
This is my 9MM. I wish they made some tactical light mount for this. Or do they? If not, I may end up selling this and getting a new S&W that I can get a tactical light for it.
Thought I would share!

I'm not a gun light guy but I recall seeing a small one you can attach to the front of the trigger guard without modifying the gun in any way...or maybe that's a laser I'm thinking of. (Not a laser guy either.) Failing that, you'd need a gun with a rail machined into the frame. Can't advise on those as I tend to like the older non tactical stuff.

I like the looks of the weapon. But I like the tact look. Just gives me the smiles. .

I had a 459 and sold it for a 5906 as I preferred an arched backstrap. Although ones can be found for the 459, they are like hens teeth. Plus the Crimson Trace Lasergrips are available for the 3 Gen S&W fullsize 9mm's and 40S&W. The 5903TSW & 5906TSW will have light rails, if you desire to add a light.

I wouldn't count on any handgun that isn't designed to have stuff hung on it to function when you start hanging stuff on it.
Remember too, when it comes to classic old Smith and Wesson guns:

You have a classic. I would keep it and save up for another pistol.

Crimson Trace now makes a light that you attach to the trigger guard. Its called the "Light Guard".

Get a new M&P but KEEP the 459. I always seem to regret trading in a gun.

The 459 is a dependable gun. What I do is just carry a flashlight if I think I need it. Modifying it may create problems and difficulties in getting a functional holster for it. Just my opinion.

Nice!
I think you're right.
Can anyone give me a price I could expect to get for this gun.

Well, I'll be dammed. Here I am buying guns with rails, lights with mounts to use on those rails and who knew the answer was sitting in my kitchen junk drawer. Tactical rail... smactical rail!
