Has anyone had any experiance with Herter's steel case ammo? I saw it on sale and since I don't reload I thought I might try some in my PPK/S and BG 380. Just want to make sure it won't hurt the guns.
The Herters ammo has lacquer coated steel cases instead of the polymer used on Tula Ammo. In my experience the lacquer coating can build up in the chamber and cause extraction issues is certain guns. The Herters stuff is also loaded with really filthy powder. Get a single box to try before you buy in bulk.

I was afraid of that. This is why I am hesitant to buy from no-name reloaders.
Ditto on the above. It's real dirty. Also, I wonder if steel cases will harm the extractor with repeated use? I've hear it will. I try to stick with Winchester white box or better, in the name brand stuff.
