That price is more or less in line with what I have seen them actually going for in the last few years, although asking prices are typically a bit higher.

They're not especially rare in nickel, but, gosh, they're pretty, aren't they?

As long as you don't use Hoppes #9, or similar type of product to clean it, you won't hurt the nickel finish. The Model 39-2 is a great shooting gun and, unless the gun is unfired after leaving the factory, shooting it won't hurt the condition of it. I have an Model 39 No Dash in great shape, especially for a 45 year old gun, but since it had been previously fired, it doesn't hurt its value to shoot it, I just make sure I clean it afterwards.

Oh yeah, we really like pictures here, especially of a great condition Model 39.

You got a good deal. I paid $475.00 + $25.00 shipping. No box or papers and only 1 mag. They are beautiful, and shoot's as good as it looks. Love that nickel.

I bought a '79 39-2 a couple weeks ago, with a non-matching Bangor Punta box and one OE mag and an aftermarket for $425.
The last one I had, many, many years ago, was, like, $375. My first one was around $350.
I think it is one of the most attractive pistols ever built.
And they run like a spotted ape.

Speedgunner: Correct magazines are blued just like for the blued guns. I don't know whether the metal or plastic magazine follower is correct for that SN, but someone here will know and hopefully post the information.
