Default BG 380 - Wife's first range trip

Well, I have to say that I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. Not with the gun, oh, not at all. With the fact that 1) the gun operated so well and 2) that my wife can operate it just fine (she can't rack my 9mm) and 3) she LOVES this gun more than her current .38 Spl. All this means that it won't be MINE, damnit.

We each ran about 30 rounds of PMC Bronze and then 6 rounds of Critical Defense. Her groupings were damned better than mine at 15 yards; more bragging rights for her, as if the Largemouth Bass of hers hanging on the wall dwarfing mine isn't enough...

I showed her the tear-down, cleaning and lube and I have to say it's easier than my Kahr CW9, although I'm surprised that the owners manual only shows to lube the rails and barrel.

All in all, she's quite happy so far. She's aware of some of the issues that others have posted, mainly the firing pin. Hopefully, with this gun being manufactured on 5/15/13, most of the issues have been resolved.

I bet your LGS would be happy to sell you a second one. I don't own one, but from what I've heard, it might be a good bit of preventative maintenance to put a dab of blue lock tight on the laser battery cover in side the frame. Good luck and remember... it's only a "friendly" competition as long as the wife continues to win.

I have had my Bodyguard for a couple of years and am very fond of it. It is a bit snappy so my wife does not care for it. If I don't shoot up a whole box of ammo at the range its not to uncomfortable and the accuracy is surprisingly good. Although bad for you glad she likes it and like mick said your LGS would love for you to have two.

According to the guy I spoke to at S&W when I called to inquire about the s/n, he stated that one of the fixes for the laser screw/anchor was LocTite at the factory.

The more she improves, the more she enjoys doing these things with me so it's a win-win in my book.
