So I have a 5906, and I "accidentally" ordered some steel case ammo.
My eyes were too fixated on the $.13 per round to be paying attention to the specifications of the bullets. It looks like they're Russian surplus ammo, and I'm wondering if my gun/extractor will be ok with this.
So are these ok to shoot, or should I get some traditional copper/brass case? I was under the impression that steel case is only for rifles.

Ive fired steel cased rounds out of my old 4506 without trouble.Just don't make it a habit over the course of , say , ten years and the pistol will do just fine.
That said your supply of Hoppes #9 might not make it through the range session...cheap Russian ammo is fairly dirty.
