Default Mith and Wesson 52-2, The cure for poor shooting skills

I guess equipment can make up for weak technique.

This is a good day at 10 yards for me, off hand 2 hand hold, with my K22, 50 rounds. I have about 1800 rounds fired through this gun in the last year and a half.

This is a reasonable day for me firing my Commander two hands at 10 yards, 50 rounds. I have close to 3K rounds through this one in 2 years.

This is the result firing my 52-2, (a gun I didnt know existed a week ago) after working a double, with ****** ammo that I had to hand cycle, in a rush to get home, and with the sights set however the last owner preferred them. This is the only 50 rounds I have ever fired in this type gun. There are 30 shots in the big hole and 20 connected "fliers" circling it.

I need to ask for a refund on my .22 and .45 practice rounds. I realize 10yards isnt a big distance but its where I am right now with my practice. This 52-2 is a great gun. I cant wait to see what its capable of with good ammo and time to sight it in. The recoil is like nothing I've ever shot - its best described as a powder puff. Really fun gun.

I use my S&W 52-2 when I have to re-do my concealed carry license I have modified the mags to hold 6 rounds and the instructor calls it a 9mm on the paper work, he says it will confuse them if its noted as 38 special on the paperwork. In Ar. if you use an auto in qualifying you can use any weapon if you use a revolver all you can carry is a revolver, the 52 will shoot the center out of a target. Jeff

It found me at a gun show. I was looking at another 52-2 that an old bullseye shooter had sitting on his table. It was well used and priced high so I passed. Walked two rows over and while browsing another table it walked up next to me in the hands of it's soon to be previous owner.

The S&W 52's were truly magnificent guns with a fabulous factory trigger and consistent bullseye level accuracy. I wish they made the same triger in a 9mm with a wide bodied frame such as the 59/5906 - it would be worth a premium price.
