Question Model 2214 Issue

I just purchased a 2214 & I'm having FTE issues. My gun dealer said it was just dirty & I should use CCI mini mags. I tend to think that it is the extractor because the slide goes back far enough to load the next round but is not always extracting the previous empty(double feeding I think) I have a 2206 & it fires everything. Is the 2214 more picky about ammo due to its 3" barrel? (my 2206 has 4.5" barrel) I am going to send it in to S&W for them to look at. S&W said it sounds like the extractor & the 2214 should shoot all ammo well. Any one with advice, help, or ideas I'd appreciate it. I've shot federal bulk 550 FTE every 4th or 5th American eagle same results CCI blazers do a little better.
