Default Spurred hammer on a 3913

I am wondering if a spurred hammer is available for the 3913.

I have one on my 3913. Think if might be from a 5906. Give S&W customer service a call.

So far I have put spurred hammers on my 6906, 3913 and my 4013, all using a part from a 5906. Some will disagree, but I just prefer them with one. I bought one from Numrich and the other two through Gunbroker. Installation is a breeze, you just need a little patience. I believe the hammers from 3rd gen pistols are interchangeable, they have been so far, but I`m not an expert here.

Default Spurred Hammer on compact 3rd GENs

I've done this conversion on three of my compact 3rd GEN pistols. Given the method of carry that I use, having a spurred hammer doesn't (IMO) restrict the presentation of the pistol when needed. The 5906 hammer and stirrup assembly works well for this swap, and it is pretty straight forward with minimum tooling. BUT - keep in mind that there are some "timing" issues involved and fitting a new or replacement hammer assy make involve replacing other parts as well on some pistols. There are some good tutorials on the Internet on the detailed disassembly and reassembly of these guns, and the "quality control" checks that should be done upon completion.
