Default S&W 659 Value

Hello, I'm new to the forum and had a question. A friend has a almost brand new S&W 659 with less than 200 rounds. Comes with 3 mags and a bianchi holster and mag pouch. It looks brand new and he's selling for 425. Is this a good deal? Thanks in advance
Purchased in 1988 and ut has the adjustable sights.

Does it have the original box? Does it have a square trigger guard?

If you want a second gen S&W it's an OK price but not spectacular. I like the third gens better myself and like the round trigger guard on the seconds.

If it were me and it had a round guard and the box with papers and cleaning kit, screwdriver etc. I would offer $400.

If you want it real bad the $425 isn't insane.

A 659 was the first semi-auto model I ever purchased oh so many years ago. It's long gone now, traded it away with some cash for a Gold Cup that's also long gone, oh well. One day i'll buy another 659 just for sentimental value.

BTW, if the gun is in the shape you describe $400-$450 is in the right range.

Merry Christmas

The gun is in excellent condition. Looks brand new. I got him to sell it for 400. Comes with original box with all original parts with 3 14 round mags and a bianchi holster and mag pouch. I am ppt-in on Saturday. I was planning on a glock but I love steel. Plus I have a feeling the longer I keep this the more the value will hit on this beauty.
Thank you guys and merry christmas and happy new year. This will be my winter ccw.

Don't convert them, go on the internet and find a could 10 rounders and buy them, stash your original 14 rounders away for the day Kalifornia wakes up.

Mine didn't like Mec-Gar mags.

Turns out Mec-Gars are 0.005 fatter than S&W factory mags.
Mec-Gars were sporadically holding the drawbar down.

Shaved the insides of the drawbar, and now it works 100%
