That's right and the first prototype was shown to a few select shooters at Camp Perry in 1941.

Big article in the American Rifleman in 1958 giving the history of the 41and WW2 put it back several years and every thing stated above is right. Jeff

Not as old as some, but this was purchased NIB for $99.95: Given Model 41 held in police evidence two decades!
We use it to introduce new shooters to the sport. Nothing like zero felt recoil and blowing out the 10 ring to get someone hooked/addicted to firearms.
