Default Model 52 barrel

New to the forum, my first post. Does anyone know if a barrel from a model 52 will fit a model 52-2? I have a 52-2 that needs a new barrel and found someone that is selling one for a 52 part #6207.

Thanks!

Welcome. The 52 barrel should work in the 52-2 but it may need some fitting by a qualified gun smith. The barrel needs to fit the bushing correctly and lock-up tight with the slide for good accuracy.

Why does your 52-2 need a new barrel?

Probably 'cause it's bulged . Load a HBWC too hot blow the skirt off & then shoot another round . Bulge one every time . Saw a guy blow the extractor out of a pristine 52-2 shooting Berry's plated HBWC's loaded with 3.5gr Bullseye . 2.7 to 3.0 max with a lead HBWC . Some folks forget they're a target pistol & try and hot rod 'em .

Default Does it still work

Hi DT,
Is the bulge in a place that allows the gun to operate?
I was around a long slide Clark gun for a while that had a bad bulge. It worked and still shot good. Go Figure?
I'd be sure the bushing is not getting to the bulge, and if not try shooting it.
Good luck
Mike

Hi Mike,
The bulge is about an inch from the muzzle. It's not real bad, doesn't hit the bushing. I sent the barrel off to Clark Custom yesterday, they're going to try rolling out the bulge. They said it can be done as long as the barrel is not too hard. Have my fingers crossed!
