Default Model 59 manufacture date?
I have a Like new in the box md 59 and I was wondering the date it was manufactured, the serial # is A3914xx
When did S&W change from Pats pending to a patent# for the model 59?

According to SCSW your 59 is from '77-'78, sorry can't help with the "Pat Pending" question though I believe it's been addressed in previous posts.

I don't remember seeing a patent number on a 59 (or 459) but the "PAT's PENDING" disappeared around A600xxx.
