Default Question about the Bodyguard trigger pull.

I shot a bodyguard for the first time today and I'm thinking about buying one. One thing I didn't like was the long trigger pull and the pressure needed to pull it. Can I get this adjusted if I buy one? TIA

Don't think so but contact Bill Springfield. If anybody can do it, he can.

All of the J frames feature a rather heavy trigger. It's a consequence of the smaller dimensions requiring smaller "levers" to act on the hammer. While the trigger pull can be reduced by a small amount I don't think that it's possible to get a 7-8 lbs. DA trigger and have the gun fire. IMO the best solution is to invest in a few sets of snap caps and shoot the rims off them, by the time you do that your finger will be strong enough a 10 or 11 lbs. pull won't be a problem.

I had the same impression. Make sure you are using the pad of your finger. Sticking your finger too far in makes it hard to pull and shoot low/right. (I learned that tonight).

Default Trigger Pull Practice

The way to get use to the "Different" trigger pull is to dry fire the gun with the laser on at a point approximately 10 yards. Concentrate on even pulls with trigger and watch the laser for corrections.Don't make the mistake of keeping the laser pin hole steady, but allow for a 6 inch deviation at the hammer drop. I do this watching TV....muscle memory.

Do what I did, sell it. I bought a Ruger Custom LCP, the new one with the red trigger, and the trigger pull on it is much better.

The trigger pull can be smoothed out and lightened up a bit, but not like the full size frames. The geometry of the trigger can't be changed to make it shorter.

I believe OP is referencing the plastic 380 semi auto, not a j frame.
