Magazine Springs for the 4506
I'm going to order some magazine springs for the 4506 and was curious which may be better in the long haul-direct from S&W or Wolff's springs? This pistol is my house gun and it stays loaded so, I was concerned about the longevity of the springs but since Wolff has a great reputation for probably the best aftermarket springs, I felt that may be the best move since the magazine(s) stay loaded all the time and rotated every three months. I'm open to opinions.

IMO....I have always had good luck with current issue SW factory mag springs...however wolfe is a quality product.
I attended a recent class where some very experienced trainers indicated...spprings under tension (meaning constantly loaded) do not cause the spring to fatigue....it is use (meaning compression and release)
With that said....over 5 years duty use with over 12K rounds through same same mags and springs (factory sw) netted zero mag failures.
I prefer factory SW springs in 3rd gen.

Well, I guess that's testimony enough.

While Wolff makes a great product, and I've used (and will continue to use) a number of their springs for different guns, when it comes to the S&W 3rd gen .45 mag springs I strongly prefer the S&W springs.

I bought a used 4506. The mag springs felt weak and I purchased new ones from S&W. When I installed the new ones I was amazed at how weak the old ones had become. BUT, the mags with the old weak springs had worked perfectly in the gun.
I only buy replacement parts from S&W.

I have a few factory springs I bought from Joe last year...just was curious what was thought about the Wolff springs. I know they work superbly in 7 round 1911 magazines for extended periods.
