Bought a S&W 909 Yesterday
Had been trying to find a time to meet the guy for weeks now. Finally met up yesterday and bought the 909.
Wow is this thing thin! Im looking for a 908 now.
Here are the pictures the original owner had.
Gun came with three original magazines, original S&W box, manual, holster and universal mag pouch.
Anyone have a 908 they would want to trade??

Thanks! I put 50 rounds through it yesterday and it seems to be a good shooter. I owned a 669 and while it was a nicer gun overall than the 909, I did not like the ambi safety. One cost cutting measure I actually like about the 909. Besides the obvious thin grip, it seems thinner with the one sided safety

That's a nice looking 909. Those early value line pistols didn't have too many differences with a third gen. They are great pistols. Enjoy your Mod 909 and good luck finding your 908.

I bought a 909 initially because I couldn't locate a 3906. It was one of my favorite S&W autos, until I found a 3906 (I believe off this forum). To me a 10 round (9+1) with a slim grip is a good compromise over the more familar 16 round (15+1) 59XX series or the 910 or 915. As you are probably already aware, 3906 magazines will fit your gun. 3906 magazines initially held 8 rounds before 9 round magazines replaced it. At the time when the 909 was introduced, during the Clinton ban, a 9 round single stack magazine made more sense to me than a 10 round double column magazine of a 910 or 59XX. I had hoped that S&W would have introduced a single stack 40S&W along the same lines.

S&W model 909
If the 3906/3904/909 had a straight back strap, they would be a perfect conceal carry side arm. I have a like new 909, just wish I could change to the correct back strap as I have on all of my 5906s. Just the way I like' em!

ME TOO
I also have a 909 that i bought a few months ago, almost as new. have only fired about 50 rds. last I went shooting i took my pa63 (bought in unfired cond)100+ rds, used but nice cz75b (bought last week) 100+ rds, & taurus titanium
.357 tracker (my woods carry) 100+ rds of .38s. At 25yards the pa63 was pretty much all over the paper (short sight radius, heavy recoil for a 9x18, was also windy, excuses, excuses), the cz is low & right (about 3"-4" groups), & the Tracker 2"-3" groups fired SA this is the only one that has adjustable sights since I did nothave a brass punch with me to drift the others. Will take the 909 out for a good workout the next nice day I don't work. Anyway why I am here does anyone know where I can find a couple of mecgar mags for it? I see them priced @ $20-$25, but everybody is out of stock (CTD, CDNN, SARCO, etc) & I do not want to have to pay the $40-$45 for a factory mag. I only work 3 days a week @ min. wage so budget is TIGHT. Thank You. .George.

That's interesting, because I'm the exact opposite. I'd rather my 910 had the curved backstrap of that 909, to equal the feel of my 39-2's. My 910 and 457's have been converted to the Hogue grips to get rid of the straight backstrap feel.
