Default 6946 Question

I have the chance to acquire a Mod. 6946; I was wondering about the action, not a true double action, and the price range. It is like new with 3 mags, but no box or other... Any comments? Thanks.

I bought my friend's when he needed money, and sold it back to him at his request when he was flush again. Great gun. I was ambivalent about the needs-to-be-partially-cocked-to-fire / no-second-strike "DAO" that S&W used on these guns, but I never found it was an issue in hundreds of rounds. It's on the large side for what passes for "compact" these days, but it's no larger than a Glock 19. Comfortable to carry and reliable as a sledgehammer.

These guns are not valued as highly as the TDA 6906s, however: a good price for a 95% 6946 with three mags and no box would be, IMHO, $275-$330. I would pay no more than $350 - there are so many surplus versions of these floating around.

The best way to describe the action of a 6946 is about 9 pounds of very smooooooth trigger pull! No slack, no slop, no take up. I have a 5946 and it has won me over from the various striker systems save one or two Tgat are both made by Walther. $350 max on the price though! Dale
