S&W GunSite.
Just what does it mean if a pistol is a GunSite? This is not trying to be smart, I really don't know.

In addition to the obvious Gunsite Logo's, the pistols specifications are determined by Gunsite. In the case of the S&W 1911PD, I believe the trigger is different and the front sight is a Gold Bead, rather than the Novaks on the 1911PD model.
The Colt Gunsite CCO differs from the current Colt production gun, as it is Matte Blue (not 2 tone) is a Series 70 and has Novak Sights. The Gunsite Pistol, 5 inch Government is spec'd with Novak rear and Heine front sights, an 18 lb. rather than a standard 16 lb. recoil springare dehorned and they are also series 70 pistols. Both Colts are typical "O" packages with Gunsite roll marks.

Your question was answered. Why the temper tantrum?
Also, there's this great thing called Google. You go there, type in "Gunsite", or "S&W Gunsite", or "Gunsite pistols", and you will get more information than you thought existed.

Gunsite is a training academy founded by Jeff Cooper. A "Gunsite" gun is one endorsed (I'm sure for a fee) by them.

It's a lightweight 1911, 4.25" barrel/slide with special rollmarks with the raven, smooth wood grips with the Gunsite raven on them, gold bead front sight, standard Novak rear sight.
I don't know that they are any more accurate/functional than the standard S&W 1911 of similar size. I had one when they first came out, bought it on a whim. Damn thing kept nailing me dead center of my forehead with ejected shells-I later learned that was a common issue with them and required some tuning of the ejector to correct it, in my view that qualifies as a design flaw.
Frankly when it comes to 1911s I feel there are better versions out there than S&W but many folks like them just fine.
Just one guy's opinion, hope that helps.
