If they aren't bringing back the Gen 3's, then I could care less.

Rumor of a small, single-stack 9mm... Will be watching GUNBLAST to see the daily notes from the SHOT SHOW posted each day to see what is new!

Going to be the year of the single stack this and single stack that. I have one and it isn't that much easier to carry than my double stack. I hope someone comes up with something interesting.

Hello!
I will be at SHOT show this Thursday and Friday. I'll report back after the show. I believe cameras are banned, so I probably won't have pics to post, but I'll take notes and ask lots of questions.
Best,
Heekma

My next "3rd gen" will be a SIG P239 if S&W doesn't start making 3rd gens again! Seriously- look at one. A very nice, all metal (alloy framed) compact single stack available with stainless slide or black nitron finish, and available in 9mm or .40 S&W.
Just about the same size as the S&W 4014 I'm wearing now (my baby!).
I'd much rather have a new "4th generation" S&W though. Another round of Melonite, de-horned 3914's and 4014's would be just the ticket.

I'd like to see 3rd Gens or even "4th Gens" offered, but I doubt I would like to pay the asking price S&W would sell the guns at to turn a reasonable profit.
Most good quality 1911s are on the wrong end of 1k, and Berettas and Sigs are easily pushing $600-$700+.
I'd rather buy 3rd Gen guns used, in good condition, for $300-$500.
Best,
Heekma

so would I, but sometimes you cant find want you want. I'd easily pay SIG and Beretta prices for a "4th generation" alloy framed semi-auto like a 4014.
And I'd pay $1000+ for a quality Shorty 40 type Performance Center gun.
S&W is selling plenty of all metal 1911's at $1000+, even though Ruger and Remington are selling some pretty nice ones under $700. You'd think they would recognize this and start making some quality 4th gens. In my opinion, the 3rd gen/SIG/Beretta DA/SA type guns with de-cockers are a nice improvement as a platform over 1911's and Hi-Powers, even though I also like 1911's and BHP's.

Got one of the "rainbow" Sig's in 40s&w, Un-canny how similiar this is to a 3rd Gen!
