Default model 422, light strike on 2nd round??

Hi! My friend bought a model 422, looks like it was used very little. He said the first round fires and the second round does not-from light strike. Could it be dirty, stopping full lockup? He will go to test it again this weekend, after a great cleaning, and try some CCI. Any thoughts will be appreciated. I think he was using Federal bulk ammo. Thanks Mikey

Hopefully it isn't a damaged firing-pin from dry firing, as this discontinued line of .22's from S&W is prone to pins breaking under dry-fire. All isn't lost thought if this is the case, as EWKArms is making replacement firing pins for these great .22's--unlike S&W who has discontinued them.

Hi! Thanks for the info on the place that sells the Model 422, firing pins. Since he bought it in used condition , it could have been dry fired many times. I'll pass the website on to him. I appreciate your help. thanks again! Mikey
