952 Variations
I tried to do a search for this topic, but the search engine would not allow me to search "952".
I was thinking of obtaining one, but I was unsure what the differences were in a 952, -1, -2, -3.
I do not know much about them...Long Slide vs the 5"....which is THE gun to have and which ones to stay away from.
I shoot my Model 52 quite often and I love it. I was toying around with the idea of a target 9mm...cheap to shoot..not too punishing, etc.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Check out this recent thread for some good info:
952 Owners: School Me
Since the Model 52 is typically mentioned in Model 952 threads, you can use the Model 52 Tag at the bottom of this page to pull up threads where the Model 52 is mentioned. There have been several threads on the 952 within the last couple of months or so.

Thanks for the link...very helpful. Where can I get info on the actual differences between the non dash and the dashes? Is there one particular variant that is better in terms if less problems that I have read bout? Thank you.

All variations are great. There is none to avoid.
952 no dash, which I have, were made in one small run of about 200 for Bangers in 2000. Wilson rear sight, no grip saftey, no mag disconnect(I don't know if the others have it ot not), no firing pin block, PC aluminum case with medallion.
-2 add the grip saftey.
-3 stainless and add the firing pin block.
I'm sure someone will be along to spell out any other differences I've forgotten.

Thanks for all of the replies. As a 52 shooter and a semi-bullseye guy, I think I might lean toward finding a 952 no dash.
These really intrigue me...wish I could try one out first.

952-1
I have the 952-1 and I do really like it.
looks wise it is my favorite as I prefer its blue rather then the newer stainless
ones.
The trigger is great, not like my 52's , but great.
I like op comparison with custom 1911's The price really does make sense
when compared to those.
I will probably buy a no dash if I ever run across one , and I am itching to shoot a six inch, stainless or not , that extra inch sure helps on my 2011
six inch and my Springfield six inch.
I also have a 945 and if a high end 1911 shoots better then it, I do not feel I could take advantage of any difference.

I can't help but notice the similarity between the 952 and Sig P210...

Mine is just like gr8tsmiles, and what he said. It is my most accurate pistol by far. Nothing else is even close, well maybe my 52, but I don't shoot it that much because 9mm is so cheap and the 52 only holds 5 rounds. I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you get.

I think I might look for a 952 no dash. As a 52 shooter, I agree with you. The 9mm is cheaper to shoot, which is appealing. It sounds like accuracy does not suffer much from the .38 Mid-Range.

952no dash= 5 ", first run, blue, Wilson sights, 300+ made, billboard slide
952-1 = 5" , blue, Wilson sights, grip safety, billboard and clean slide varieties
952-2 = 5 or 6" varieties, stainless, grip safety, 5" has LPA sights, 6" has Wilsons, a variation is black with polished flats
952-3 = 5" in 9X21, blue or SS models
Probably a few more export models I have yet to acquire
