Default Thoughts and value on the 669

A local has a nice looking 669 for sale. I have never seen one of these in person, but from what I can tell, they are basically the same size as a 3953/2913. If I am wrong, please tell me.
I have always wanted a 3913, but they are very rare around here. The pic below is the 669 I am interested in, but have no idea of its worth. If anyone has a good idea of its value, please let me know. It does not have the original box...

Now, THAT'S funny!

I have no idea what they are. But now that you mention it, it looks like Rhinoliner for pickup beds. The seller says he wants $495 (and he's taking a loss). I think I will just hold out for a 3913.

I recently paid 350 for mine and aside from the suck *** pachy grips that have since been replaced with factory stocks, it was worth the money.

Default Model 669 Value

I recently purchased one of these back in December after searching for a few years. They generally go for $350-$425 in good condition. There were some recall issues on the 669, specific to the safety/decocker not functioning. S&W recommends the following procedure to test it:

1- load an empty magazine into the gun
2- with the safety set to fire, squeeze trigger until 1/2 cocked
3-engage the decocker. If it doesn't release, or seems choppy in operation, call S&W to have the warranty invoked

A 669 is my daily carry gun. No problems with it at all. I think I paid around $400, but it was several years ago.

Reviving this thread.

I've read that holsters are difficult to find for a 669/469. I recently inherited my brother's 669 and was examining it when I began to wonder if the 669 would fit in the holster for my Sig P6. the P6 is a mid sized single stack 9MM with a somewhat bulky slide as most older Sigs have and a squared trigger guard. So I tried the 669 in my German Police surplus P6 OWB holster and yes, it fits pretty well. The top strap it too long so it does not ride on the back of the side, but that could be fixed by adding leather or a shaped block to the inside of the strap. Otherwise, the holster fits pretty well! So, there is another option.
